Thanks to decades of experience in the construction, maintenance and management of technological infrastructures in the telco, energy and transport world, Sirti now possesses unique multidisciplinary know-how in the Italian panorama which make it the ideal company for involving in large projects on a “country-wide” scale. From this know-how and in-depth knowledge of the area comes a transversal vision that enables the design and construction of infrastructures based on a “multi-service” approach. In fact, Sirti’s plans are optimised to maximise the use of existing infrastructures (telco networks, energy networks, transport, sewerage networks, water networks, district heating etc.), ensuring that implementation costs are reduced and that they are fully reliable and maintainable over time. This across-the-board expertise, highly regarded by customers, gives Sirti a competitive edge, elevating it above the competition.

FIXED NETWORKS
Now more than in the past, Sirti acts as a reference point for the homogeneous and widespread dissemination of technology in our country, with a constant commitment to innovation, sustainability and the quality of the services proposed.
For all phases of design, construction, delivery and maintenance of transport and access networks, Sirti adopts innovative solutions to prepare modern FTTC/FTTH (Fibre To The Cabinet and Fibre To The Home) network infrastructures, where the use of an increasingly higher number of fibre cables and dedicated accessories is required.
Sirti proposes turnkey solutions, handling all the process, design, construction and delivery phases, through to the management and maintenance of the network.
RADIO-MOBILE NETWORKS
With the growth in audio and video streaming services, there is a corresponding demand for speed for downloading content from the network. Estimates and forecasts suggest that, within a few years, 97% of traffic will pass through mobile devices and that we are on the cusp of the wearable technology era, which will require bandwidth and speed. Technologies like 5G and Wi-Fi will help to meet the demand for increasingly more hi-tech services.
Sirti is able to manage the End-to-End process in the construction of Radio Access Networks, complete with both Radio Link and Fibre Optic transport networks, regardless of the Technology Provider and with turnkey solutions.

Focus on GSM-R rail networks
Sirti boasts an out and out leading position in the design and construction of systems for the circulation of radio signals inside complex infrastructures, such as motorway tunnels, railways, undergrounds and rail GSM-R.
Sirti has contributed to the definition of a wireless communication standard in the rail domain. This is a data and voice transmission system which allows on-board personnel to communicate with the ground through dedicated channels, implemented by Sirti on the High-Speed Lines in Italy. The GSM-R mobile telephony network (where R stands for Railway) broadcasts over the band of frequencies in the 900 MHz range reserved for rail activities in Europe. In particular, the GSM-R network is used by the traffic signalling and control system based on the European ERTMS standard, also developed to ensure the safe flow of traffic between the rail networks of the different European countries that have the same technology. The coverage extends to over 10,600 km of national rail lines.
