Sirti contributed towards the development of the long-distance telephone network in Italy in the 1920s and 30s, connecting the North to the Centre and the South of the country, thereby laying the base for our national telecommunications system.
Sirti became a key player in other markets too such as the energy, information technology and technological infrastructures sectors. It took on an even greater role in the area of railway transport, where the Saturno Consortium, established in 1986, was a leader in the construction of the new high-speed railway lines linking up the country.
Sirti celebrated its 90th birthday.
