Our first 100 years

Looking to the future makes no sense if we don’t take into account what has already been built, often with great effort, and if we fail to appreciate the full history of what we commonly refer to as progress. Since 1921 we have been accompanying the development of our country: 100 years after our foundation, we celebrate this important anniversary by showing our closeness to all the people who over the decades with their work and sacrifice have contributed to the realisation of our mission. The initiatives and materials collected on this page in memory of our journey are a tribute to all employees and their families, of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

In the weeks leading up to Sirti’s centenary celebration, we wanted to compose a series of visual and musical stimuli and messages and to accompany and prepare the public in understanding the significance of 21 November 2021. An important date not only for the company, but for the whole country.
The missions accomplished by the people of Sirti in 100 years of history are characterised by a sense of ambition and heroism.

To celebrate the centenary, we have created an itinerary of initiatives designed to synthesise the memory of a century of work, take stock of the challenges of the moment and question our mission for the future. We did this by involving institutions, the industry’s senior management, all strata of our company, past and present colleagues, and even families. We have involved historians of industry, pioneers of innovation, artists and academics. All to make this moment unique and epic.
